Jerome Guerin

Chartered Physiotherapist & Acupuncturist

Jerome is a Chartered Physiotherapist and Acupuncturist who graduated with honours from Birmingham University. He worked for seven years across all major NHS departments, including respiratory, neurology, orthopaedics, and accident and emergency, gaining valuable experience. As Lead for the Dudley Orthopaedic Community Services (DOCS) team, Jerome helped patients transition smoothly from hospital to community care with the right support. His time in the NHS gave him deep insight into patients’ needs and extensive experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including nurses, consultants, and occupational therapists, ensuring coordinated care. In 2006, he opened his private practice in Kinver, Staffordshire. Beyond healthcare, Jerome has a strong interest in property development, which started during his early career as a qualified carpenter and joiner. He’s always taken an active role in the properties he invests in and manages, completing extensive training in the field and working closely with architects, planners, and builders. Jerome is known for his practical, can do attitude, valuing relationships, and bringing enthusiasm and humour to every project.

What We Do

We design and develop bespoke homes for autistic individuals and those with learning and physical disabilities, as well as other neurodiversities, ensuring every property is adapted to the unique needs of the individual or individuals living there. Our projects range from individual houses to shared accommodation for those wishing to live with friends. Working in partnership with families, care providers, and service professionals, we deliver high-quality, sensory-friendly homes that support independence and dignity. Our collaborative approach also extends to working with investors, legal advisors, and accounting teams to ensure each investment is secure and managed with integrity.

What Makes Us Different

Our work is shaped by lived experience and clinical expertise. We understand the profound impact a well-designed home can have on physical health, happiness, personal growth, and independence. Thoughtful Places was inspired by our own journey of creating a safe, accessible home for a family member with learning disabilities and a parent with decreasing mobility, which highlighted the importance of custom spaces that foster wellbeing and security. This personal insight, combined with our professional background, ensures our developments are future-proofed and always tailored to the individual.

Our Philosophy

Values & Mission

Thoughtful Places, a core division of AFT.Guerin Ltd, is founded by two experienced healthcare professionals with over 50 years of combined expertise supporting children and adults with additional needs. Our work in health and social care has shown us the profound impact that the right home environment can have on wellbeing, independence, and quality of life.

That’s why we develop supported living properties that feel like real homes, safe, warm, accessible, contemporary spaces designed around the people who live in them. Truly listening to the individual and their families, to understand their needs and aspirations, helps us to create beautiful, empowering spaces.
